Congressman Canseco Receives Recognition for Commitment to Conservative Values

Oct 30, 2012

Washington, DC:  Congressman Francisco “Quico” Canseco (TX-23), a proponent of smaller government and fiscal responsibility, was honored by the American Conservative Union (ACU) for his conservative voting record in Congress.
“Since coming to Congress, I’ve worked hard to advance the principles of limited government, fiscal responsibility, individual freedom, and family values.  I’m honored to receive the ACU Conservative Award in recognition for standing up for these conservative principles. Now, more than ever, I believe it’s vital to stand behind these conservative principles, particularly when our economy continues to stagnate and our $16 trillion national debt increases by the day.  It is time we shrink the size of government, rein in out of control federal spending, and stop the attacks on traditional values, so that we can pass on the American dream to our children and grandchildren just as limitless as we inherited from our parents and grandparents,” said Congressman Canseco.
Award recipients are those members of the House and Senate who received a score of 80% or higher based on their votes concerning a variety of issues determined by ACU.  ACU is the largest grassroots conservative organization in the U.S.
